Shiori is a player for the visual novels you own. Sign in with your Steam account, download your PC games onto your iPhone, iPad or Apple TV, add patches through the Files app, and play them with touch, a keyboard and pointer, or a controller.
Shiori doesn’t include or sell any games. It plays the ones in your library.
Engines
Each game runs on a native runtime for its engine. Most engines are their own open-source package:
| Engine | Package | Runtime |
|---|---|---|
| Ren’Py 6.99–8 | Built into the app | Ren’Py’s own iOS runtime, with embedded CPython and SDL2 |
| KiriKiri / KiriKiri Z | KiriKit | krkr2’s core with Shiori’s environment and Metal compositor |
| Artemis | ArtemisKit | Shiori’s own interpreter (Swift, Lua 5.1) |
| SiglusEngine | SiglusKit | siglus_rs, patched |
| Luca System | LucaKit | Shiori’s own interpreter (Swift) |
| CatSystem2 | CatSystemKit | Shiori’s own interpreter (Swift), plus an E-mote renderer |
Will my game work?
Which games play, and how well, is tracked in the open on the compatibility list. Each game’s page in the app shows its status too. Tested a game yourself? Pull requests are welcome.
